A History of Parallel Infrastructure

In 494 BC, the citizens of Rome found themselves crushed by unpayable debts, their labor exploited by a ruling patrician class controlling the laws and credit of the Republic. Rather than engage in violent revolt, the plebeians chose a more radical path: The Secession.

They marched to the summit of the Aventine Hill, refusing to serve the patrician state, establishing their own parallel government, temples, and laws. By withdrawing participation from a corrupted hierarchy, they forced a constitutional realignment, securing representation and civil liberties.

Aventine Labs is founded in the spirit of this secession. We secede from cloud vulnerability. By keeping cryptographic enclaves local and coordination peer-to-peer, we return absolute leverage and data ownership back to the client.
